Moneyhub closed its consumer app in 2026 and, per its own notices, deleted customer data on 14 August. If you were one of the people who used it to see everything you owned in one place — rather than to categorise spending — most of the apps being recommended to you now are solving a different problem.
See OwnWorth with example data Compare the alternativesWhatever you move to, the lesson of Moneyhub, Money Dashboard and Yolt is worth taking seriously. All three were free or cheap, connected to your banks, and shut down. When a consumer finance app closes, the picture you built goes with it.
So the first question to ask any replacement is not "what does it show me" but "can I get everything out, in one click, whenever I like?" If the answer is anything other than a plain yes, you are renting the same risk again. OwnWorth exports the lot; so do several of the alternatives below.
| Watching spending | Categorised transactions, budgets, "where did it go". This needs a bank connection. Emma and Snoop are the usual UK answers, and they do it well. |
|---|---|
| Watching wealth | Everything you own and owe, including pensions, property and investments, and whether the total is going the right way. This does not need a bank connection at all — and that is where OwnWorth sits. |
If you want both, the sane answer is one of each, not a compromise that half does either. We would rather tell you that than pretend.
It suits you if the Moneyhub screen you actually looked at was the net worth one; if you have pension pots in more than one place, a house with a mortgage, or holdings that aren't in a single platform; and if you would rather type values in once a month than link your bank to anything.
It does not suit you if you want transactions categorised automatically, if you need a native iOS or Android app from an app store, or if you want everything to update without you. It is a web app you install to your home screen, it is manual by design, and it costs £5.99 a month.
What it does that the budgeting apps don't: property owned in unequal shares between partners, pensions tracked by exact units, private company and angel holdings, Section 104 pooling for UK capital gains, and a per-person view of a household total.
Set out plainly, because you should pick the right one rather than the one that markets hardest. Details are from each product's own website in August 2026 and may have changed — tell us if so.
| Emma, Snoop | Open banking, spending categorisation, budgets. The natural home if what you liked was transaction tracking. Free tiers exist. |
|---|---|
| Aureli | UK net worth tracking, deliberately no budgeting, native iOS. Closest in philosophy to OwnWorth; different feature choices. |
| WealthR | Manual UK net worth with a tax and FIRE focus, free tier plus a paid plan, and a large set of free calculators. |
| Know Your Dosh | Household and family-first, with permission-based sharing between partners and adult children. |
| Kubera | Global, manual, handles unusual assets well. Priced for larger portfolios and not UK-specific. |
| A spreadsheet | Genuinely fine, and free. If yours is working and you enjoy maintaining it, keep it. Most people stop maintaining theirs, which is the actual problem an app solves. |
There is a fuller side-by-side on the comparison page, including where OwnWorth loses.
If you exported before the shutdown, OwnWorth accepts CSV import for holdings and transactions. If you did not export in time, that data is gone — Moneyhub said it was deleted — and you will be re-entering from statements. Sorry.
No, and you can't. OwnWorth has no open banking connection by design: nothing is linked, so nothing can be drained and there are no credentials to lose. The cost is that you type values in.
A few minutes, and less than it used to. Investments, crypto and FX reprice themselves; mortgages and loans amortise from the rate and payment you already entered, so those balances arrive filled in for you to accept or correct. What is left is a house price, a cash balance, and rent if you let a property — the figures only you can know.
A fair question to ask after Moneyhub. Full export in one click, at any time, in a format you can read without us. That is the only promise worth making, and it is worth demanding from anyone else you consider.
