OW OwnWorth

Privacy policy

Last updated 29 August 2026

OwnWorth helps a household track what it owns and owes. This policy explains what we store, why, and how you get rid of it. Plain English, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.

Who we are

OwnWorth is operated by D Proper T ("we"), a company registered in England and Wales, at 4 Deacon Street, London SE17 1GD. We are the data controller for the information described here. ICO registration: [to be added]. Contact: privacy@ownworth.app.

What we store

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell data to anyone, and we do not profile you for marketing.

Where it lives

Your data is stored in your browser on your device, and — if you create an account — in our database hosted by Supabase in the EU region, protected by row-level security so one account can never read another's. It travels encrypted (HTTPS). The app is served by Vercel; prices come from public market-data sources, which receive only the ticker symbols in your portfolio, never your amounts or identity.

Why we're allowed to (lawful basis)

Performing our contract with you: storing the data is the service you asked for. Our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and fixing bugs you report. Legal obligation: keeping transaction records for tax purposes.

How long we keep it

Your data stays until you delete it. Deleting your account removes it immediately and cancels any active subscription first, so you are never charged for an account that no longer exists. Two exceptions, both required or justified: payment and invoice records held by Stripe and by us for accounting are kept about six years as UK law requires; feedback reports are kept but stripped of any link to you.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or erase your data. Export and erase are buttons in the app — Account → Import & backup downloads everything; Account → Delete account erases it. You may also object to processing or ask us to restrict it. Write to privacy@ownworth.app and we'll respond within one month. If you think we've got it wrong, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Sub-processors

Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (sending the emails you trigger), Cloudflare (domain and email routing). Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.

Children

OwnWorth is not intended for under-18s. You may record a child's name and their assets as part of your household; that information is yours, entered by you.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

OwnWorth is a record-keeping and planning tool, not financial advice, and we are not regulated to give any — see the terms of service.
