Who it's for

People whose money stopped fitting in a budgeting app. Two or three pension pots from old jobs. A house owned jointly, sometimes in unequal shares. Maybe a buy-to-let. Shares in a company you work for or invested in. A partner with their own accounts. The honest total lives in a spreadsheet nobody enjoys maintaining.

Everything you own and owe

InvestmentsETFs, funds and shares with live prices, in ISAs, SIPPs or general accounts. Section 104 pooling for UK capital gains.
PensionsWorkplace pots and SIPPs. Track a value you update monthly, or exact units in a fund like a Vanguard Target Retirement — priced live, like any other holding.
PropertyValue, mortgage and equity. Buy-to-let rent and payments. Owned jointly, in unequal shares, or partly by a company or family trust.
Private companiesAngel investments and shares in companies that have no ticker, valued the way you decide, and revenue if they pay you.
Cash and debtsSavings, loans, credit cards, car finance — counted honestly against the assets.
HouseholdYou, a partner, children, joint accounts, companies and trusts. Filter the whole picture by person.

A few minutes a month

There is one ritual: a monthly check-in, and it is deliberately shrinking. Investments, crypto and exchange rates reprice themselves. Mortgages and loans pay themselves down — the app amortises from the rate and payment you already gave it, so the balance arrives filled in and you accept or correct it. Pensions tracked by units move with their fund.

What is left is what only you can know: a house price you have a view on, a cash balance, rent received. Every computed figure is labelled as an estimate, and the moment you type a real one it becomes the number of record.

What makes it different

What it doesn't do

It doesn't categorise your transactions, recommend products, take affiliate commission or give advice. It does track your recurring costs and monthly cash flow — because you enter them — but it will never know what you spent at Tesco on Tuesday, because that needs a bank connection and there isn't one. Emma and Snoop do that part well; use one alongside if you want it.

OwnWorth answers a different question: what do we own, and is it going in the right direction.

Four things it does that most trackers don't

There's an honest comparison with the alternatives, including the four situations where you should pick something else. Coming from a tool that shut down? Moneyhub alternatives. Weighing up a spreadsheet against an app? The three honest ways to track net worth in the UK.

Three free tools, no signup

Both run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and no account is needed.

Try it before you sign up

The app opens with a full example household — investments, pensions, a mortgaged property, private company stock — so you can see exactly what it does before typing a single number of your own. No account needed.

OwnWorth is a record-keeping and planning tool, not financial advice, and we are not regulated to give any. Projections are estimates based on figures you enter and on live market prices — not a forecast of what will happen.
